Tuna fish exported as many specifications. Value addition was done according to those specifications.
Tuna H&G (Bullet)
Fish with Gut, Gills and Head removed is considered as H&G fish. American market is the high demanded market for H&G Tuna. European market also have some demand but not as American market. Normal packing size is 100kg per box. It take one or two fish to make 100kg box.
Tuna STEAKS
Tuna Steaks are vertical slices cut from a loin with 1.50cm to 2.00cm thickness and weigh between 150g to 200g
Expensive specification since the production cost is high.
Tuna CUBES
Tuna cubes are small rectangular pieces cut from loins.
Perfect for Kebabs.
Tuna SASHIMI
Sashimi is a grade not a spec. When compared with other Tuna grades, Sashimi has the highest value and highest preference.
Tuna STANDARD LOIN
This is the most common spec of exporting. Price is low when compared with other specifications.
